Dr. Berchman Wong ND BSc

Berchman practices medicine with an individualized approach, removing obstacles to health and strengthening the body's ability to heal. He is passionate about the state of the environment and advocates natural sustainable health care. He is a naturopathic doctor and graduate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and the University of Saskatchewan, where his love of science led him to study cellular aging and obtained a High Honours double degree in biochemistry and microbiology.

In my own words:

I grew up in Hong Kong and Toronto. My love of nature and animals were apparent at an early age, with an eagerness to becoming a veterinarian. It wasn't until university when I found my calling in the form of naturopathic medicine blending science and nature's wisdom. I believe deeply in the connection between mind and body. I am passionate to help people heal and improve quality of life from the inside out in mind, body and spirit, through the art and science of medicine.

I am a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and registered with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA). As a student, I spent time at the Anishnawbe Health Toronto where I worked to improve the health of the Aboriginal community.

With many interests, I spread my time between practice and research. I am involved with the first national long-term study on human ageing ever conducted in Canada at the Calgary Data Collection Site for the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Ageing (CLSA), following participants who volunteer for the study for up to 20 years to study the multi-factorial process of human ageing. I am also a peer reviewer of scientific research articles for the Integrated Healthcare Practitioners (IHP) magazine.

In my practice, I have a special interest in chronic disease, pain management, hormonal balance and mental health with a clinical focus on homeopathy, biotherapeutic drainage, acupuncture, nutrition and counselling.
